Overview:
"Giotto Biotech S.r.l. is a spin-off of the Magnetic Resonance Center (CERM) at the University of Florence, specialized in providing biomolecules, organic synthesis, metabolomics and NMR access.
Giotto Biotech has an extensive catalog of proteins produced through expression in E. coli (i.e. matrix metalloproteinases, S100 proteins, Fe-S proteins, copper chaperones, DO1, calmodulin and other calcium-binding proteins, amyloid beta 1-40 and 1-42 and alpha-synuclein) with a particular expertise regarding the synthesis of proteins labeled with stable isotopes (i.e. 13C, 15N and 2H) and customized proteins or polypetides (labeled and unlabeled). Giotto sells also synthetic inhibitors of enzymes and other metallorganic products of interest to the biotech and biopharma industries. Custom synthesis can be provided upon request.
Giotto has recently begun a research line to exploit algae as cell factories for biomolecules
Giotto has a strategic agreement with CortecNet that allows us to provide the NMR community with a number of NMR protein reference standards at very competitive prices.
Thanks to the collaboration with CERM, Giotto has access to an exceptional battery of NMR instrumentation to provide services in NMR metabolomics, statistical analysis, protein structure determination and screening of libraries against protein targets."
